By using the teeth of specimens of a species to determine their age, we can better understand the strategies adopted by hunters, for example, how they chose their prey from within a herd (according to their vulnerability or the yield to be obtained). This fragment of a mandible is also a clue to the hunting season. It belongs to a two-month-old fawn, which means that the hunt took place between the end of July and the very beginning of August.
