The Alcove of the Lions is a niche framed by the Panel of the Horses to the left and the Reindeer Panel to the right. This alcove is about the size of a person and contains 17 animal figures, unevenly distributed on the two walls, which are marked by orange calcite flows. On the left, three lions are interlaced with five horses, an aurochs and a megaloceros, while on the right, a feline and a falling horse are drawn above a bison and an aurochs. The animals are marked by red dots and dashes and a yellow spot of goethite.
